Baker who owns a Leslie 147 and made a patch that comes REALLY close to a real Leslie. It involves modulation delays, high/low pass filters, tremolo's, panners and eq's. These are really all needed to get anywhere near a real Leslie sound. This is by far the best Leslie emulation I've heard in a long time. This is one of the few that uses different speeds for the horn and speaker!. From: tom owens[SMTP:exigy@one.net] Sent: Wednesday, October 16, 1996 2:51 PM To: GSP Users Subject: Patch: Fake Leslie There's been so much traffic about Leslies lately I figured I'd RE-post this. As noted down below, this was originally written/posted by PBAKER. It's included in SAP format WAAAAY down at the bottom of this message. I used this patch in this form a few months ago and was quite happy with it. I now use a modified Dual S-DISC version of this that uses stereo inputs and I run my synthesizer input thru the leslie emulator section of the patch and run the guitar signal thru different effects entirely. It really kicks ass when you run a synth organ thru it. If anyone is interested, I'll post my modified version as a sysex file when the ftp site is back on-line. -- General note about people NOT posting patches: Somebody complained earlier today that no one posts patches anymore. I've posted a number of them in the past and asked for feedback from anyone who might be using them. I got no feedback and assumed the stuff I was posting was not of any use to anybody... a fair assumption, I use the Harmonizer too much...my stuff is not very useful for general rock-n-roll and definitely not useful in a "cover" band. It could also be because I keep posting dual-SDisc, custom algorithm, Artist(tm)-oriented stuff. I have mine hooked up to my External CC pedal. ________________________________________________________________________ This patch is tweeked to work with my Gretsch 6119 (filtertron pickups) and my Ric 370-12 and it works pretty well with them. Neither of which has hot pickups. My PRS tends to drive this this too hard and too much distortion makes this sound less like a Leslie. I spent alot of time dialing this patch in to my guitars, so I'm a little worried about how this will sound one someone else's system. If you try it, drop me an Email to let me know how it works out.
