The GSP21 unit was made with two versions: GSP21, GSP21 Pro and GSP21 Legend.
All 3 versions are nothing other than a GSP21 with the latest firmware, so GSP21 can and should be upgraded to GSP21 Legend.

Q: What are the differences between the GSP21, GSP21 Pro, GSP21 Legend?
 A: They all have identical circuitry. Hardware is electronically and mechanically the same. The Pro and Legend shipped later and, therefore, had later firmware versions. If you install the latest firmware (2.30 Legend) into a GSP-21 or GSP-21 Pro, you will have a GSP-21 Legend 234 programs. The only difference will be the face plate.

Q: How can I find out the installed firmware version of my GSP21 (Pro, Legend)?
A: Execute these steps:
 - switch on the unit
- press the “UTILITY” button
- press the “PARAMETER ←” or “PARAMETER →” button more times to reach the function “Software Version” – The display shows the installed software version
- press the “UTILITY” button to exit the utility menu

Q: What was the latest (and final) firmware version for the GSP21 (Pro, Legend)?
 A: Version 2.30 was the latest version.
Q: Where can I get the "Legend" firmware-upgrade (2.30) for my GSP21 (Pro, Legend)?

A: By installing the 2.30 "Legend" firmware you upgrade any GSP 21 (Pro) to a GSP21 Legend.

Q: Will I lose my presets after installing the Legend 2.30 firmware in my GSP21 (Pro, Legend)?
 A: Yes, because after installing you have to execute a hard reset.
If you want to keep them, consider a bulk MIDI dump or individual program dump. (I don't know, though, if older GSP-21 programs will seamlessly load back into a GSP-21 Legend 2.30.) Or, write down your most important settings on paper.

Q: Which of the footcontroller can I use for  my GSP21 (Pro, Legend)?
A: You can use a GSP21 FC, a GSP21 Pro FC or a GSP21 Legend FC irrespective to the type of your unit.

Q: Is a German user manual available for the GSP21 (Pro, Legend)?
 A: No, the manuals were not translated into German.

GSP21 (Pro, Legend) TROUBLESHOOTING:

Q: How do I recognize that the internal battery gets weak?
A: Best would be to measure the voltage with a voltmeter. If you don't have one:
- The unit doesn't hold the presets while switched off.
- The display might show garbled characters
I recommend replacing the battery every 3 years.

Q: How do I measure the voltage of the internal battery?
A: Execute these steps:
- Pull the mains power cable!
- open the unit and locate the battery

- Measure the DC voltage IN THE CIRCUIT with a voltmeter
- The voltage should be 3,5VDC or higher. If it is lower, replace the battery. Note: You will find the right battery HERE!!!
- close the unit
Q: which type of battery is the right one?
A: This one.
Q: After replacing the lithium battery of my GSP21 (Pro, Legend) I get confuse characters on the display. What can I do?
A: Execute a hard reset

Q: How do I execute a hard reset at a GSP21 (Pro, Legend)?
A: If you execute a hard reset you will lose your presets! Execute these steps:
 - connect power cord
- switch off the unit
- switch on the unit WHILE pressing down the “UTILITY” button
- an message appears at the display “Are you sure? – Press ↑ For Yes“
- release the “UTILITY” button
- press (and release) the "PARAMETER ↑" button
- The display reads "Factory Presets ….Loading…."
